Glory To God And Praise And Love – Hymn Lyric
Glory to God, and praise and love
be ever, ever given,
by saints below and saints above,
the church in earth and heaven.
On this glad day the glorious Sun
of Righteousness arose;
on my benighted soul he shone
and filled it with repose.
Sudden expired the legal strife,
’twas then I ceased to grieve;
my second, real, living life
I then began to live.
Then with my heart I first believed,
believed with faith divine,
power with the Holy Ghost received
to call the Savior mine.
I felt my Lord’s atoning blood
close to my soul applied;
me, me he loved, the Son of God,
for me, for me he died!
I found and owned his promise true,
ascertained of my part,
my pardon passed in heaven I knew
when written on my heart.
O for a thousand tongues to sing
my dear Redeemer’s praise!
The glories of my God and King,
the triumphs of his grace.
My gracious Master and my God,
assist me to proclaim,
to spread through all the earth abroad
the honors of thy name.
Jesus! the name that charms our fears,
that bids our sorrows cease;
’tis music in the sinner’s ears,
’tis life, and health, and peace!
He breaks the power of canceled sin,
he sets the prisoner free;
his blood can make the foulest clean;
his blood availed for me.
He speaks, and listening to his voice
new life the dead receive;
the mournful, broken hearts rejoice,
the humble poor believe.
Hear him, ye deaf, his praise, ye dumb,
your loosened tongues employ;
ye blind, behold your Savior come,
and leap, ye lame, for joy.
Look unto him, ye nations, own
your God, ye fallen race!
Look, and be saved through faith alone,
be justified by grace!
See all your sins on Jesus laid;
The Lamb of God was slain,
his soul was once an offering made
for every soul of man.
Harlots and publicans and thieves,
in holy triumph join!
Saved is the sinner that believes
from crimes as great as mine.
Murderers and all ye hellish crew,
ye sons of lust and pride,
believe the Savior died for you;
for me the Savior died.
With me, your chief, you then shall know,
shall feel your sins forgiven;
anticipate your heaven below
and own that love is heaven.

Glory to God and Praise and Love: A Celebration of Faith and Redemption
On a bright and joyful day, the glorious Sun of Righteousness arose, shining its light upon my once benighted soul. In that moment, I found solace and peace, and all the legal strife that burdened me suddenly expired. It was then, in that transformative moment, that I ceased to grieve and began to live my second, real, and living life.
With faith divine, I wholeheartedly believed, and with the power of the Holy Ghost, I received the ability to call the Savior mine. It was a profound realization that my Lord’s atoning blood was close to my soul, that He loved me, and that He died for me, an unworthy sinner. The promise of His love and forgiveness was true, and it was etched upon my very heart.
Oh, if only I had a thousand tongues to sing my dear Redeemer’s praise! The glories of my God and King, the triumphs of His grace, are beyond measure. With gratitude overflowing, I call upon my gracious Master and my God to assist me in proclaiming His name and spreading His honors throughout the earth.
Jesus! The name that charms our fears, that bids our sorrows cease. It is music to the ears of sinners like me, a lifeline of hope, and a source of true peace and vitality. Jesus breaks the power of canceled sin, setting the prisoners free. His redeeming blood has the power to cleanse even the foulest among us. And it availed for me.
When He speaks, even the dead receive new life. The mournful and broken hearts find joy, and the humble poor come to believe in Him. To the deaf, His voice brings praise, and to the dumb, it gives them back their voices. The blind behold their Savior’s glorious coming, and the lame leap for joy. His presence brings transformation and restoration to all who seek Him.
To all nations, I say, look and acknowledge your God, you fallen race! Look and be saved through faith alone, for it is through faith that we are justified by grace. Every sin, every transgression was laid upon Jesus, the Lamb of God who was willingly sacrificed for the salvation of every soul. No one is beyond His saving grace, not even the most sinful among us.
Harlots and publicans, thieves and all of us who have strayed far from righteousness, let us join in holy triumph. The sinner who believes is saved, and that includes those who have committed crimes as great as mine. Murderers, the hellish crew, sons of lust and pride, believe that the Savior died for you. His sacrifice extends to all, and with belief comes redemption.
With me, your chief sinner, you shall know the joy of forgiveness. You will feel your sins washed away, and you will anticipate your own personal heaven here on earth. In that moment, you will truly understand that love itself is heaven, and it is available to all who seek it.
Glory to God and praise and love, be ever, ever given by saints below and saints above, the church in earth and heaven. Let us celebrate our faith and redemption, spreading the message of hope and salvation to all corners of the earth. May the name of Jesus be a beacon of light and the source of everlasting peace for all who hear it.
